Dr. Loosen - Erdener Treppchen Riesling GG Alte Reben 2013
Erdener Treppchen Riesling GG Alte Reben
Explosive fruit and an expansive texture from the oldest parcel of the Treppchen vineyard, a windy site that inhibits botrytis, allowing for very long hang time and exceptional flavor development. Only one 1,000-liter Fuder cask is produced.
Mosel Region
Located in far western Germany, the Mosel valley’s steep, southfacing slopes create the perfect climate for Riesling, giving the vines ideal exposure to the sun. The cool climate allows the grapes to ripen slowly while retaining bright acidity

Vinification
The wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts and kept in the barrel, on the full lees, for a year before it is bottled. The extended maturation time allows the wine to develop greater texture and a natural harmony
Tasting Notes
The aromas of flowers and leaves dripping after a tropical storm make this very seductive. Also a hint of anise (a signature aroma for the site). This is like an elegant lady who demands to be treated appropriately. In spite of the creaminess on the mid-palate it finishes very clean and quite mineral.
Food Pairings
This wine makes an elegant aperitif and is an excellent match for seafood, spicy Asian cuisine and lighter dishes.
