Gran Reserva - Syrah 2014
Located 65 km (40 mi) north of Santiago, this small wine region is famous for producing some of Chile’s greatest red wines. At 22,828 feet (6,956 meters), Mt. Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the Americas, towers over the valley and its snow-capped peak lends essential mineral-laden water to the valley below. Daily breezes moderate the otherwise high temperatures found in the Aconcagua Valley and reduce the risk of vine disease. The Antarctic ‘Humboldt Current’ which flows up the west coast of Chile helps to maintain this effect.
